NEP+ Board of Directors Evaluated NEP+ office Performance

NEP+ Board of Directors conducted its regular meeting at Adama Town for three days (January
14-16, and evaluated NEP+ performance of 3rd quarter (July 1 to September 31, 2021) 2021.

Ato Bayia Chala, NEP+ acting executive director on his part, elaborated all the challenges the organization faced during the quarter. Ato Bayisa mentioned that shortage of budget was very crucial even to conduct board regular meeting.

The board of directors finally has conducted wide discussion on the report and advised the organization to continue its effort to mobilize additional resources. The board also advised the organization to strengthen its effort of implement capacity. The board has also discussed and passed decisions on different issues that may help the smooth operation of the Organization.

NEP+ Board of Directors conducted its regular meeting at Adama Town for three days (January 14-16, and evaluated NEP+ performance of 3rd quarter (July 1 to September 31 2021) 2021. The activity report of the organization was presented to the board by Ato Belay Reta, NEP+ M and E manager.

According to Ato Belay, over 30 thousands of beneficiaries on ART has benefited from CDC and L Initiative projects that are currently at hand.
Ato Belay in his presentation mentioned that in addition to performance of many activities, NEP+ has made great effort to mobilize additional resources for the organization. Accordingly, says Ato Belay, the NEP+ has produced over 6 projects that costs over 9 million USD and submitted different donors. He also added that the shortage of budget was bottle neck for the organization to achieve its objectives properly. Ato Belay added that the delay of global fund project and budget cut from CDC has highly affected the implementation of the activities of the organization.

የኔፕ ፕላስ ቦርደ መደበኛ ስብሰባውን አካሄደ

የኔፕ ፕላስ ቦርድ መደበኛ ስብሰባውን ከጥር 6-8 2013 በአዳማ ከተማ ያካሄደ ሲሆን በስብሰባው በልዩ ልዩ ጉዳዮች ላይ በመወያየት የተለያዩ ውሳኔዎCን አሰተላልፈዋል፡፡ በዚው መሠረት ቦርድ ከሀምሌ 1 2913 እስከ መስከረም 30 2013 ድርስ የተከናወኑ መደበኛ ሥራዎች በድርጅቱ የክትትልና ምዘና መምሪያ ሓላፊ በሆኑት በአቶ በላይ ረታ ቀርቦል፡፡ አቶ በላይ ረታም በርፖርታቸውየግሎባል ፈንድ ሰኔ 30 2013 መጠናቀቁን አብራርተው በሩብ አመቱ ሥራዎች በዋናነት የተከናወኑት በሲዲሲ ፕሮጀክትና ከፈረንሳይ መንግስት በL IUntiative  በኩል ብቻ በተገኘ በጀት ነው ብለዋል፡፡

በፕሮጀክቶቹም ከ30 ሺህ በላይ ለሚሆኑ የጸረ ኤች አይቪ መድሓኒት ተጠቃሚዎች በህክምና ቁርኝት ዙሪያ የምከክር አገልግሎት መሰጠቱን አብራረተዋል፡፡  ከዚህም በተጨማሪ የድርጅቱን አቅም ለማሰደግና የግሎባል ፈንድ እንÇ=ቀጥል ለማድርግ ከ 9 ሚሊዮን የአሜሪካን ዶላር በላይ የሚያወጡ የፕሮጀክት ሀሳቦች ተነድፈው ለሚመለከተው ድርጅቶች መሰጠታቸው ተብራረተዋል፡፡ አቶ በላይ በሩብ አመቱ የተለያዩ ድፓርትሜንቶች ተባብሮ መሥራት  ለሥራችን አቅም ነበረ ብለዋል፡፡

በሩብ አመቱ ያጋጠሙትን ችግሮች በተመለከተም በግሎባል ፈንድ በጀት መቆም፤ ቀጣዩም ቶሎ ባለመወሰኑና በሲዲሲ ከኔፕ ፕላስ ለመውጣት መዘጋጀት ምክኒያት የሰራተኛው አለመረጋጋትና በብዛት ድርጅቱን መልቀቅ ª’ኛው ችግር ነበረ ተብለዋል፡፡ከዚህም በተጨማሪ በከፍተኛ የገንዘብ እጥረት ምክኒያት የኔፕፕላስ ቦርድ ከጽ/ቤቱ ጋር የነበረው መስተጋብር እየተራራቀ መምጣትም ሌላኛው ድርጅቱን የገጠመ¨< ጉል ህ ችግር ነው ተብለዋል፡፡

አቶ ባይሳ ጫላ የድርጅቱ ተ/ዳይሬክተርም ከቦርዱ የቀረቡ ጥያቄዎችና ድርጅቱን የገጠሙ ችግሮች ዙሪያ ሰፋ ያለ ማበራረያ ሰጥዋል፡፡ ቦርዱ እንደተለመደው ከድርጅቱ ጎን በሚችለው ሁሉ እንÇ=ቆምም አደራ ብለዋል፡፡
ቦርዱም በርፖርቱ ላይ ሰፊ ውይይት ካካሄደ መጨመር የሚገባቸውን ጉዳዮች በመጨመር ቦኃላ ርፖረቱን አጽድቋል፡፡

Management updates the staff

Network of Networks of HIV Positives in Ethiopia updated its staff about new HIV prevention and care service program in a three day training session.

NEP+ Executive Director, Ato Mekonnen Alemu, said while he explained the objective of the training during his opening speech that all of the NEP+ employee as a NEP+ staff should be aware of every new HIV programs developed by UNAIDS, WFP and Government of Ethiopia and other concerned body.

He underlined that every employee is an ambassador of the organization and he/she must able to orate with confidence and comprehensive information about NEP+ to his/her surrounding societies. In order to exercise this, such kind of timely update training is crucial, Ato Mekonnen said.
Accordingly, Ato Diku Worku, program manager of NEP+ presented his update on Index Case Testing (ICT). Index case testing is conducting HIV test willingly on a certain family after indentifying a person with HIV virus in the family, Ato Dinku said. This process has three types of approaches, according to Ato Dinku.
According to him Family Matrix (FM), Partner Network service (PNS) and Social Network Service (SNS). Reducing new HIV infection and providing ART treatment and counseling service for HIV positives persons are some of the the goals and objectives of this approaches, learnt from the presentation.

Ato Nigusse Gebre, program Officer of NEP+, also presented about TLD (a first line antiretroviral (ARV) fixed-dose combination) and national third line ART implementation manual. In his presentation he revealed that HIV positives children are not getting proper types of ART drug. He also clarified that number of second line ART drug registries is increasing.

Earlier to the two presentations Ato Mekonnen Alemu, Executive Director of NEP+ presented about office burn out management. In his presentation he briefly explained about how stree happened and how it affects our office work and he also give a clue how one avoid such stress.

NEP+ Staff plants tree seedlings

Network of Networks of HIV positives in Ethiopia staff planted tree seedlings at the outskirt of Addis Ababa on July 29, 2019.  It is the part of the national campaign called 200 million in a day initiative. The staff plants the tree under the theme of “green legacy” which is a national 4 billion trees planting project that was officially initiated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on May 26, 2019.

 All the staff member of the organization left the office by 8:00 in the morning towards the area that has been facilitated by the Akaki kaliti sub city wereda 2 office for planting area called Addis Modjo exit with specific name of UNISA (university of South Africa) Square.

The Executive Director Ato mekonen Alemu and his management besides all the rest of staff planted more than 200 seedlings.

According to Ethiopian News Agency report, the 4 billion tree planting project will cover the country’s 2.3 percent area by forest.

Throughout the nation more than 353 million trees planted  in 12 hours on Monday, which officials believe is a world record, CNN reported
