Management updates the staff

Network of Networks of HIV Positives in Ethiopia updated its staff about new HIV prevention and care service program in a three day training session.

NEP+ Executive Director, Ato Mekonnen Alemu, said while he explained the objective of the training during his opening speech that all of the NEP+ employee as a NEP+ staff should be aware of every new HIV programs developed by UNAIDS, WFP and Government of Ethiopia and other concerned body.

He underlined that every employee is an ambassador of the organization and he/she must able to orate with confidence and comprehensive information about NEP+ to his/her surrounding societies. In order to exercise this, such kind of timely update training is crucial, Ato Mekonnen said.
Accordingly, Ato Diku Worku, program manager of NEP+ presented his update on Index Case Testing (ICT). Index case testing is conducting HIV test willingly on a certain family after indentifying a person with HIV virus in the family, Ato Dinku said. This process has three types of approaches, according to Ato Dinku.
According to him Family Matrix (FM), Partner Network service (PNS) and Social Network Service (SNS). Reducing new HIV infection and providing ART treatment and counseling service for HIV positives persons are some of the the goals and objectives of this approaches, learnt from the presentation.

Ato Nigusse Gebre, program Officer of NEP+, also presented about TLD (a first line antiretroviral (ARV) fixed-dose combination) and national third line ART implementation manual. In his presentation he revealed that HIV positives children are not getting proper types of ART drug. He also clarified that number of second line ART drug registries is increasing.

Earlier to the two presentations Ato Mekonnen Alemu, Executive Director of NEP+ presented about office burn out management. In his presentation he briefly explained about how stree happened and how it affects our office work and he also give a clue how one avoid such stress.

NEP+ Staff plants tree seedlings

Network of Networks of HIV positives in Ethiopia staff planted tree seedlings at the outskirt of Addis Ababa on July 29, 2019.  It is the part of the national campaign called 200 million in a day initiative. The staff plants the tree under the theme of “green legacy” which is a national 4 billion trees planting project that was officially initiated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on May 26, 2019.

 All the staff member of the organization left the office by 8:00 in the morning towards the area that has been facilitated by the Akaki kaliti sub city wereda 2 office for planting area called Addis Modjo exit with specific name of UNISA (university of South Africa) Square.

The Executive Director Ato mekonen Alemu and his management besides all the rest of staff planted more than 200 seedlings.

According to Ethiopian News Agency report, the 4 billion tree planting project will cover the country’s 2.3 percent area by forest.

Throughout the nation more than 353 million trees planted  in 12 hours on Monday, which officials believe is a world record, CNN reported
