About the NEP+

The Network of Networks of HIV- Positives in Ethiopia (NEP+), was established in 2004, as an umbrella organization of twelve PLHIV networks comprised of nine regional states, two city administrations and one national PLHIV women networks. NEP+ is legally registered as per new federal ACSO with registration No 1483 principally committed to end HIV and other top deadly diseases and its impacts; advocate for the rights of PLHIVs, and other marginalized community in the country. In order to meet its mission and strategic objectives, NEP+ would like to invite competent and qualified applicants for the following post.

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of Senior MEAL Officer position is to assist the M&E Manager in overall management and output of the unit. The job holder renders technical MEAL support to member networks and assists in demonstrating progress against strategic objectives of NEP+. The post holder is also responsible for assisting the generation of regular and ad hoc reports for external purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Assists the development and/or updating of MEAL plans, guidelines, tools and systems to be used by NEP+ and its members;
  • Support the identification of higher level indicators to assess progress and overall in NEP+ against NEP+’s strategic plan;
  • Assist the development of effective results frameworks and subsequent indicators at project and members level(s);
  • Participates in project proposal writing;
  • Assist in designing baseline, midterm, and end term evaluation of different projects;
  • Assists in organizing periodic valuation and monitoring program implementations;
  • In collaboration with different units, periodically monitors the quality of data collected and reports produced, and agree on actions required;
  • Undertakes compilation of data for analysis and reporting requirements;
  • Generates  quarterly, biannual and annual tabular reports for reporting purposes;
  • Assists the generation of data and compilation of quarterly reports for regular donor reporting purposes;
  • Assists the production of quarterly and annual reports against Government annual plans;
  • Assist compilation of regular monitoring reports prepared by different Projects  along with evaluation recommendations;
  • Provides data deemed important for concept paper or proposal development;
  • Assists that the database of NEP+ is well designed, electronically maintained and made accessible to relevant staff;
  • Properly utilize program database and generate information on a quarterly basis and ensures the backup filing is maintained;
  • Provides statistical information for users within and outside NEP+;
  • Participates in the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and best practice;
  • Actively involved in community lead monitoring management
  • Participate in stakeholder taskforce meetings and joint supportive supervision
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • BSc in Management, Health Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Statistics, Public health or other related fields.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of work experience in extension work, Health related activities.
  • NGO experience is desired

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS 

  • Application of software and data management and analysis;
  • Report writing and analytical skill;
  • Proficiency in computer application;
  • Application of SPSS or other statistical software.
  • Interpersonal communication
